- Public Administration (e.g. Government, Police, Judicial, etc.)

Did your education prepare you for your career or occupation?
My education taught me a lot about many broad topics and how to research and write well as well as reasoning and logic skills. All of these skills

Has your education or career/occupation trajectory ever changed? How?
Yes, many times.

A little introspection...

To me, being successful means...
Sharing my life with a kind loving companion, children and grandchildren. Living simply so I don't have to worry about the mortgage or bills. Being able help those that I love in little ways. Being able to travel at least once a year. Feeling useful and content but not stressed with my work. Being happy with myself and being consciously grateful for all the blessings that I have experienced so far.

My definition of success has not changed over time.

My greatest accomplishment to date and what I’ve learned from it
Nothing to do with work or career. My greatest accomplishment was raising three fantastic loving children who are successful and happy in their own lives. And now, two beautiful grandchildren to watch with wonder and amazement.

My biggest mistake or regret so far and what I’ve learned from it
I have hurt partners when I left relationships. I don't think of this as a mistake but I regret having hurt anyone even if I thought it was the best thing for me.

An unexpected event that significantly changed my life and how it impacted me
I met someone on vacation and moved from the US to Canada on a whim. I left a relationship, quit a job and left all my friends and family to move far away to a place where I only knew one person. I never moved back to the States and never will because my ties are too great here. If I hadn't left the US, my life would have been completely different in every way.

My favorite spot in or around Palo Alto
