Did your education prepare you for your career or occupation?
Somewhat, high school and college lay a very thin framework for medical school education but most of what I have learned occurred in medical school.
Has your education or career/occupation trajectory ever changed? How?
A little introspection...
To me, being successful means...
Feeling happy and proud of the things I am doing.
My definition of success has changed over time.
I learned to accept what I am doing and how long my path takes. I learned that I can't be perfect at everything.
My greatest accomplishment to date and what I’ve learned from it
Keeping a marriage together for 5 years. Graduating from Medical School in 2016.
My biggest mistake or regret so far and what I’ve learned from it
I regret applying to a medical school that caused me and my husband to have to live apart from each other for 3 years. That was very hard. I pursued my dreams but with a cost.
An unexpected event that significantly changed my life and how it impacted me
When I got into medical school in a city where my husband couldn't work, it allowed me to attend medical school but forced me to change my relationship. We struggled but made it through and are now on the other side of that adventure. It taught me to act more in a team with my husband.
